Good Skin Knowledge lesson plans and activities (ages 8 - 10)

             Good Skin Knowledge

Good Skin Knowledge lesson plan library (ages 8 - 10)

Thank you for your interest in Good Skin Knowledge, the American Academy of Dermatology’s youth education campaign. The goal is to teach the facts about common skin, hair and nail conditions in order to prevent misunderstanding that can lead to teasing and bullying, which can cause anxiety and depression.

Here, you will find lesson plans and accompanying activities geared to an audience of 3-5 graders. Click on the topics of your area of interest and you will find facilitator guides with accompanying easy to use activities. By learning about common conditions and being prepared for their changing bodies, young people will be better equipped to maintain healthy self-esteem during their teen years.

Each subject area has various subtopics from which to choose, with a lesson plan and coordinated activity. When you click on the subtopic, you will have the option to access the materials two ways. The collapsible icons will take you through the flow of each lesson step by step, including the activities with handouts. Alternatively, you can preview each printout in the window on the right of the page.
