History of the Skin Cancer Screening Program
In 2010, the American Academy of Dermatology marks the 25th year of the National Skin Cancer Screening Program. Since the program's inception, volunteer dermatologists have conducted more than 2 million free skin cancer screenings. Above is a timeline of the programs progress that demonstrates its many facets and the successful milestones reached along the way.

The American Academy of Dermatology (AAD, or Academy) has been partnering with dermatologists across the United States since 1985 to offer free skin cancer screenings. Most screenings take place in the spring, but dermatologists volunteer their time throughout the year. If you do not find a screening in your area, bookmark this site and check back later. Listings are updated weekly.
