Learning Objectives:
Following this course, the attendee should be able to:

  • Identify superficial anatomic structures of the head and neck.
  • Apply knowledge of facial anatomic structures to clinical practice.
  • Detect and manage danger issues in anatomic areas and structures of the face and neck.

Description:
This session is designed to provide basic principles of superficial head and neck anatomy as it relates to dermatologic surgery. In addition to lecture format, cadaver specimens will be used to demonstrate, via prosection and live demonstration, important anatomical structures of the superficial head and neck for dermatologists and dermatologic surgeons. The live demonstration of the prosection will be projected on several large screens for attendees to view and see clearly. Clinical correlation of anatomy to surgery will be emphasized.
