Learning Objectives:
Following this course, the attendee should be able to:

  • Develop a basic understanding of the innate and adaptive immune system
  • Recognize how the immune system functions in normal skin
  • Demonstrate how alterations in the immune system can contribute to inflammatory skin diseases

Description:
This session is designed to update the audience on new developments in general immunology with an emphasis on skin immunity, especially those that are of most interest to clinical practitioners. The session will build on a fundamental understanding of general immunology of the skin, followed by an emphasis on understanding the pathogenesis and treatment of inflammatory skin diseases
