Learning Objectives:
Following this course, the attendee should be able to:

  • Identify cutaneous markers of gastrointestinal diseases and initiate an appropriate workup
  • Discuss what medications for acne and other skin disease are safe to prescribe for patients with inflammatory bowel disease
  • Identify and treat the skin diseases associated with TNF inhibitor therapy for inflammatory bowel disease

Description:
We will take a practical approach to the crosstalk between diseases of skin and gut. A series of patient cases and photos will be used to exemplify the skin signs of gastrointestinal disease. High yield diagnostic and treatment pearls will be reviewed.
