  • Determine which patients will be good candidates for photodynamic therapy for various indications, also taking into account cost considerations
  • Recognize potential side effects of photodynamic therapy and ways to mitigate them.

Description:
This session will review the literature on photodynamic therapy (PDT) for the treatment of skin cancer, acne and skin rejuvenation, including the efficacy and safety profiles. Practical applications for different clinical scenarios utilizing MAL-PDT and ALA-PDT will be discussed, as well as limitations of the treatment and new techniques on the horizon. This session is intended for dermatologists looking to expand their therapeutic armamentarium by adding PDT to their practice and for those seeking to apply advanced techniques to greatly enhance patient satisfaction and outcomes.
