The American Academy of Dermatology’s skin cancer public service advertisements (PSAs) are not paid ads. Stations run the PSAs free of charge at their discretion as part of their commitment to delivering important public service messages.
The Academy has no control over when and where the PSAs air. The Academy’s goal is to reach as wide an audience as possible with important messages about skin cancer prevention and detection.
Usage of the PSAs does not imply endorsement of any particular program. Requesting stations to not air the PSAs during a particular program would discourage them from playing the PSAs altogether.
