Skin Cancer Awareness Month a public success
This May was Skin Cancer Awareness Month. As one of the most important public education campaigns we undertake, the Academy was dedicated to ensuring that patients across the country stayed well informed about the dangers of skin cancer and the variety of steps they could take to help reduce their risk.
To date, news stories featuring skin cancer appeared over 2,300 times — with a nearly 21% increase in media placements from last year — and were viewed nearly 720 million times, with that number continuing to rise.
