Highlighting the specialty in the nation’s capital

The Academy’s advocacy power comes from the voices of our members. At the Academy, we make it easy for your voice to be heard on the issues that matter most to your patients and practices.

In 2022, the AADA Legislative Conference returned in-person to Capitol Hill, giving dermatologists the opportunity to bring critical dermatologic issues before members of Congress. Attendees included physicians, patients, patient advocates, and dermatology practice administrators.

Academy members who were unable to attend the conference were invited to participate in a “Virtual Fly-In” by sending letters to their members of Congress about dermatology’s legislative priorities, generating more than 200 letters sent by over 190 AADA members.

Attendees were also encouraged to share their experiences on social media during their time at the conference. At least 32 tweets, seven LinkedIn posts, and 28 Instagram posts were shared with #AADAontheHill.
