Even more awareness for vitiligo

June 2023 was Vitiligo Awareness Month, and AAD.org saw a massive increase in visitors and page views compared to the previous year. To achieve this, the Academy updated its existing vitiligo content, optimized it for search engines, and promoted the new fresh content with a Your Dermatologist Knows video, a news release, and social media posts.

The efforts paid off! Webpage views to pages on vitiligo increased 509% from 2022, with an increase of 506% in unique visitors and an increase of 13% in average engagement time. The AAD website moved into the top Google result for “vitiligo treatment” in June and remains in the top spot as of September.
