Florida enacts annual skin cancer screening exam legislation

Gov. Ronald DeSantis (R) of Florida signed legislation requiring state group health plans to provide coverage and payment for annual skin cancer screenings performed by a dermatologist, or an advanced practice registered nurse or physician assistant working under the supervision of a dermatologist.

The AADA supported the efforts of the Florida Academy of Dermatology through an AADA State Advocacy Grant as well as written testimony.
